In a current post, Microsoft motivated everybody to” get classic” with brand-new Microsoft Teams backgrounds. The backgrounds include highlights from Windows’ tradition such as the ‘splainy paperclip Clippy, Microsoft Solitaire, which one grassy field that was everybody’s wallpaper in the early noughties.
Credit where it’s due– they’re good looking backgrounds, definitely desktop wallpaper product if you do not like to have arty video call backgrounds. My sticking point is with part of the accompanying blurb for the Paint-inspired background: “An item of the 1980s, Paint was initially presented in November 1985 as part of the very first variation of Windows, Windows 1.0. And while the initial Paint is still enjoyed by lots of artists in the making, its follower Paint 3D was ultimately launched in 2017.”
Paint 3D was commonly disliked on release, and I challenge the ramification that Paint 3D is Paint’s follower in anything aside from chronology. Microsoft recommended eliminating initial Paint in 2017 and it was so out of favor a choice that they drifted it back to the Windows Store after an online petition, and after that right back to an integrated OS program– where it belongs, in my viewpoint.
These backgrounds are a good interest fond memories, similar to Paint itself, with its main functions of ‘crop’, ‘scribble’ and ‘draw huge red arrow’– so stop attempting to make Paint 3D take place. It isn’t going to occur.
You can discover the backgrounds at Microsoft’s blog site, and possibly find that you, too, have a burningly enthusiastic viewpoint about some part of Windows history. Maybe about Microsoft Solitaire? It was integrated to the OS for over twenty years, after which point they brought it back with advertisements you need to register for to eliminate.
Fond memories is kept in the airbrush tool, really.
